So, back in February I posted about my dreams of hitting the road and living a great adventure…. and then I got quiet about it. It wasn’t for lack of dreaming or silent planning but it was because we were busy focusing on Chris’ health and trying to figure out what we needed to do for him and for our future as a family. A lot has happened since then so here’s our Grimes Family Adventure update:
When I posted back in February Chris was just getting back to his PE Coaching position and most days was optimistic about being able to continue teaching and doing his job. He came home often and told me how much he loved his job and was thankful to have it. It's not often a dad gets to coach his own kids at their elementary school.
Throughout the rest of the spring Chris really struggled and there were days he didn’t think he could do anything. It was hard watching my once dominating, on the court basketball player struggle to get up out of a chair or walk. We listed out house, not because he wanted to hit the road, but because he could see how much it was stressing me out to have to take care of the kids and the house and work so much.
- provide information on getting ready for and transitioning from “sticks and bricks” living to live on the go
- show those of you homeschooling how I use digital portfolios to plan and keep track of my kids learning
- have virtual field trips for those of you who want to “visit” our locations with us. The field trips can be used with homeschoolers or even with classrooms.
- keep you posted on speaking engagements and workshops we may be doing in your area on out-of-the-box education or adoption
